Coolsculpting
Coolsculpting is an FDA approved procedure that uses cryolipolysis, commonly referred to as fat freezing. This is a nonsurgical fat reduction procedure that uses cold temperature to reduce fat deposits by 20-25% in certain areas of the body. It works by placing a suction applicator over the fat bulge and there are two panels within the applicator that freeze the fat to approximately 40 degrees Fahrenheit. This is enough to damage the cells and create an inflammatory response. The dead cells are then excreted over the next 3-12 weeks. The procedure is designed to reduce localized fat deposits or bulges that do not respond to diet and exercise.
Approved treatment areas include chin, arms, abdomen, bra fat, love handles, inner & outer thighs and knees. CoolSculpting® is for patients at or near their ideal body weight who want to reduce fat.

Botox
Repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, or raising eyebrows cause skin to furrow and fold, gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines.
Botox is FDA approved to temporarily block signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can no longer contract, which causes the wrinkles to relax and soften. It is most often used on forehead lines, crow’s feet (lines around the eye) and frown lines (between the eyebrows). You may begin to notice results within 24 to 48 hours with full results in 2 weeks. These results can last up to four months.

Fillers
By the age of 35, the natural aging process causes us to lose about 10% of the fat in our faces, which is what gives us our youthful appearance. We lose an additional 5-10% of facial volume every 5-10 years thereafter. This means that by the age of 55 you may have lost 40% of your facial fat which is why we develop unwanted lines and sagging in the lower part of the face.
In addition the natural production of hyaluronic acid and collagen decreases. Facial fillers work by adding volume to the facial tissue through its’ active ingredient, hyaluronic acid which also attracts water to replenish moisture to your skin.
Some people are hesitant to get facial fillers due to fear that they will look “done”. When injected in small quantities in the correct areas you will just have a natural improvement and restoration of a youthful appearance.
The most common areas to inject are the cheeks, lips and lines between the nose and mouth. Results are seen immediately and can last from one to two years depending on the area treated.
